Mahatma Gandi has given us so many great quotations. I found this one particularly thought-provoking earlier this year.
Let’s face it: Folks try this every single day. Family members. Neighbors. Strangers. Sometimes even “friends.”
Every time I’m on my personal social media profiles–and particularly on Facebook–someone does this. And I allow it to happen. I read comments that add no value to my life. I allow Facebook’s algorithms to mold my view of the world and politics. I allow family members to make draining comments on my own status updates and photos because I don’t want to start a row.
Today it stops. I don’t traditionally observe Lent, but given it starts today, what better time to give up something that adds very little value to my life but adds anxiety and stress and results in wasted time?
So join me on Instagram over the next 40 days as I provide daily challenges to help you walk away from Facebook drama–from the drama that starts in groups to the occasional arguments that start on your own profile or wall.
